Example agent design
Production Report Agent for Oil and Gas
A production report agent checks Form PR data for lease IDs, operator of record, and volume reasonableness before the deadline, and hands a reviewer-ready exception list to the person who files in RRC Online. This is a starting design. An AI Blueprint adapts it to your goals and the systems it will connect to.
- Owner
- The production or regulatory accountant who files with the Railroad Commission
- Reads
- Production volumes exported out of operational systems or field data apps · Lease IDs and operator-of-record data from the ERP · Prior months' filed reports
- Never writes
- Filings with the Texas Railroad Commission, or volume changes in the system of record. It never connects to SCADA, historians inside OT zones, or field controllers.
- Typical cost
- AI Blueprint $4,500–$7,500, credited toward the build. Typical first build $18,000–$35,000. Agent Operations after launch $2,500/mo for one production agent. See the first engagement
The workflow
Production reporting today and with the agent
Planning comparison only. Scope, timing, and outcomes vary by data, workflow, approvals, adoption, and implementation conditions.
- Lease IDs and operator
- TodayChecked by hand against the ERP each month.
- With the agentChecked against the ERP's lease and operator-of-record data before the deadline.
- Volumes
- TodayReviewed for reasonableness when time allows.
- With the agentCompared with prior months, with unusual volumes flagged for review.
- Exceptions
- TodayFound close to the deadline.
- With the agentListed for the reviewer with the source of each flag.
- Filing
- TodayA person files in RRC Online.
- With the agentUnchanged. Filings go live the moment they are submitted, so a person files.
How it runs
Five steps from production data to filing
An illustrative solution design, not a reported client result. The AI Blueprint maps it to the company's own leases, systems, and reporting calendar.
- 01
Receive the exported data
Receives production volumes pushed out of operational systems or field data apps, never pulled from inside OT.
- 02
Check lease and operator data
Checks lease IDs and operator of record against the ERP.
- 03
Check volume reasonableness
Compares volumes with prior months and flags what looks unusual.
- 04
List the exceptions
Builds a reviewer-ready exception list with the source of each flag.
- 05
The accountant reviews and files
The production accountant reviews each exception and files in RRC Online. The agent submits nothing.

Systems
The systems it reads
- Production data
- Volumes exported out of operational systems or field data apps such as GreaseBook.
- ERP
- Lease IDs and operator-of-record data from Quorum, Enertia, IFS BOLO or Excalibur, W Energy Software, or PakEnergy.
- Prior reports
- Prior months' filed reports, for comparison.
Technologies ITECS evaluates and integrates through each system's available API, export, or import under your licenses; listing a product does not imply a formal partnership or a certified integration. The AI Blueprint confirms the systems each company runs.
Controls
Read-heavy and write-controlled by design
- Read-heavy
- Reads the systems listed above through access scoped to this workflow.
- Write-controlled
- Writes nothing listed under Never writes in the spec at the top of this page. Anything it drafts waits at the approval points below.
- Approval points
- The production accountant reviews every exception and files in RRC Online. Nothing is submitted by the agent.
- Audit trail
- Each run keeps its inputs, sources, output, and the reviewer's decision.
In this design
- The agent never files with the Texas Railroad Commission or changes a volume in the system of record. The production accountant reviews and files.
- Runs on the business network and uses data exported out of operational systems. It never connects to SCADA, historians inside OT zones, or field controllers.
- Access is property- and partner-scoped, so one partner's data stays out of another's view, and owner tax IDs and bank details are masked where a task does not need them.
- Rate math, decimals, and allocations are computed in deterministic code, and each flag cites the rule and source behind it.
- ITECS does not provide legal, accounting, or engineering advice through its agents, and no design promises an outcome. The agent prepares and checks; the company's accountants, landmen, engineers, and counsel decide.
Deployment fit
Where this design can run
- Hosted AI Agents
- Runs in a governed Linux environment ITECS operates, on frontier models through enterprise API agreements, connected to the ERP and production data exported out of operational systems through controlled integrations, with human review and an audit trail.
- Private AI Servers
- Runs on local models on a server inside your network, for production and lease records that should not leave it. The same build ladder applies; server hardware is quoted after a sizing call.

FAQ
Production Report Agent FAQ
Does the agent file with the Railroad Commission?
No. Filings go live the moment they are submitted, so the production accountant reviews the exception list and files in RRC Online.
Does it connect to SCADA or field control systems?
No. The agent runs on the business network and uses data exported out of operational systems, following CISA's December 2025 guidance that places LLMs in the business layers and keeps them out of OT safety decisions.
Does it change production volumes?
No. It flags volumes for review. Any correction is made by the accountant in the system of record.
Is this legal, accounting, or engineering advice?
No. ITECS does not provide legal, accounting, or engineering advice through its agents. The agent applies rules the company approved and drafts or flags for review; accountants, landmen, engineers, and counsel decide, and no design promises an outcome.
